Reframe

Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program

Adolescence can bring emotional and behavioral challenges that place stress on school performance, family relationships, friendships, and overall well-being. Our virtual Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program, Reframe, offers specialized treatment in a supportive group therapy setting, helping 13 to 17-year-olds who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, and substance use develop healthy coping skills, build resilience, and improve emotional wellness. We accept patients in Vermont, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

The Retreat’s referral and admissions process is designed to be simple and convenient. You can submit a form online using the provider or legal guardian referral forms below. For more information on the admissions process, call 802-258-6120.

What to Expect

What is Treatment Like?

Our remote clinical program provides specialized, evidence-based treatment and support for teens, delivered by our highly skilled clinical team. Virtual care has been shown to be both effective and convenient, allowing clients to access treatment from wherever they are. Participants engage in group sessions, build connections with peers, and practice new skills together throughout their time in Reframe. All online interactions take place through secure, user-friendly platforms that comply with the same HIPAA privacy and security standards as in-person care.

Care That Fits Your Needs

Reframe is designed to enable participants to remain in school and at home, while receiving treatment. Participants attend four groups a day (Monday – Thursday) from 2:00 pm to 4:45 pm. In addition, there are weekly family meetings and ongoing coordination with schools and outpatient treatment providers.

Reframe participants receive a personal orientation and meet with a clinician to establish their treatment goals, as well as a medical professional to discuss treatment and medication options. Treatment consists of daily group sessions with peers, one-on-one weekly therapy sessions, and weekly psychiatric consult to discuss treatment needs, chart progress, and develop an aftercare plan. Time spent in the Reframe is determined by individual patient needs.

You’ll build a path back to life and school by learning skills to help you overcome mental health challenges. Reframe is designed to help you:

  • Connect to others and cultivate supportive relationships
  • Sleep better and feel better about yourself
  • Learn coping skills to help you manage difficult feelings and experiences
  • Reduce anxiety, depression, tension, anger, and fatigue
  • Recognize and change unhelpful behaviors, consistent with your values and goals (we’ll help you learn about these too!)
