Information for Families & Loved Ones

We understand how difficult it can be to have a family member or loved one in the hospital--or to be supporting someone who is receiving daily outpatient care. That's why we do everything we can to provide a patient-centered, family-focused environment.

Inpatient Visiting Hours

Visiting hours are available seven days a week (in most cases). However, different programs at the Brattleboro Retreat have different policies regarding visiting hours. Please check with the appropriate nurse manager or charge nurse if you have questions. Here are some general guidelines for inpatient visiting hours:

Adult Inpatient Programs (Tyler 1, 2, 4, and Osgood 2 and 3):

  • 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday through Friday
  • 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday and Sunday

Adolescent Inpatient Program (Tyler 3):

  • 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday through Friday
  • 10:00 am to 7:00 pm Saturday and Sunday

Children's Inpatient Program (Osgood 1):

  • 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday through Friday
  • 10:00 am to 7:00 pm Saturday and Sunday
Residential Visiting Hours

Our child and adolescent residential programs do not have set visiting hours.

  • Parents, guardians, and approved family members must arrange visits and campus passes through the resident’s therapist.
  • In most cases, visits should be scheduled between 9:30 am and 8:30 pm on weekends.
