We understand how difficult it can be to have a family member or loved one in the hospital--or to be supporting someone who is receiving daily outpatient care. That's why we do everything we can to provide a patient-centered, family-focused environment.

Suggested Inpatient Visiting Hours

Adolescents  

10am – 7pm 

Children 

8am – 8pm 

Adults 

Monday through Friday, 6pm-8pm 
Weekends, 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm 

Please keep in mind that different programs at the Brattleboro Retreat have different policies regarding visiting hours. Check with the appropriate nurse manager or charge nurse if you have questions. Arrangements can be made for visitation outside of these time frames by discussing with the patient’s social worker or nurse manager. 

All visitors to inpatient units will be required to pass through metal detection prior to visiting. No weapons or firearms are permitted on Retreat grounds. 

Residential Visiting Hours

Our children’s residential program does not have set visiting hours.

  • Parents, guardians, and approved family members must arrange visits and secure campus passes through the resident’s therapist.
  • In most cases, visits should be scheduled between 9:30 am and 8:30 pm on weekends.

The Brattleboro Retreat offers off-street parking for visitors and other guests conveniently located at the center of the campus.

Dining/Cafeteria

While The Retreat’s full-service cafeteria is currently closed to the public, a variety of dining options are available within a short drive of campus.

Interpreter Services

Interpreter services are available for deaf and hard of hearing patients, and non-English speaking patients and their families. Telecommunications devices for deaf and hard of hearing patients are also available. Staff members will assist you in obtaining these services.
