Doctoral Psychology Intern

Carrie Webb, M.A. is a doctoral psychology intern at the Brattleboro Retreat and a doctoral candidate in clinical psychology at Hofstra University, where she earned a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She graduated from New York University, summa cum laude, with a B.A. in Psychology.

Carrie has trained in a variety of treatment settings in the New York metro area, including The Reeds Center for anxiety, OCD, and related disorders, Gracie Square Hospital – New York-Presbyterian Regional Hospital Network, and the Saltzman Community Services Center at Hofstra University.

Her primary orientation to treatment is third-wave cognitive behavioral; she frequently uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in her work with clients.

Carrie has experience working with individuals from varied backgrounds who seek treatment for a wide range of concerns. Among her clinical interests are obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, body-focused repetitive behaviors (e.g., skin-picking, hair pulling) and body and appearance dissatisfaction.

Her research examines the implementation of treatments for body image dissatisfaction and how they can better address clients’ needs.
