Mary Iellamo, M.Ed.

Mary Iellamo, M.Ed., is the Inpatient Psychology Specialist for Adult Inpatient Programs at the Brattleboro Retreat. She completed her doctoral internship and fellowship at the Brattleboro Retreat in the adult inpatient track. Mary received her BA in Psychology and English at the College of Our Lady of the Elms and her M.Ed. in Psychology (Counseling) at Springfield College, where she remains a doctoral candidate in Counseling Psychology.

Mary has received training and supervision across levels of care at settings, largely through UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate Medical Center with additional experiences at Providence Behavioral Health Hospital, Rockville General Hospital, and Walden Behavioral Care. She has also spent several years working in the field of eating disorder treatment.

She enjoys collaborating as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide more holistic care and conceptualization to the clients with whom she works for psychological testing and psychotherapy. As a clinician, Mary approaches her work from an integrative style of psychodynamic and third-wave approaches with an additional emphasis on biological psychology. Her clinical interests include serious mental illness, personality disorders, and behavioral medicine, particularly focusing on sleep disorders and eating disorders/eating behavior. She is passionate about breaking the mold of traditional assessment and therapy and working with clients to increase wellness across domains of their lives.
