Katie O'Connor, MA, LCMHC, NCC

Katie graduated from the University of Montana with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2018. She completed a post-master’s clinical fellowship at Eastern Michigan University Counseling & Psychological Services from 2018 to 2020. Katie served as the campus mental health counselor at The Putney School, a local independent boarding school, before joining the Brattleboro Retreat in 2022.

 

 

Katie is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor. Since completing her master’s degree, she has practiced in a variety of academic and clinical settings ranging from the rural west, metro Detroit, and southern Vermont. Her clinical interests are broad and include intimate relationships, interpersonal process, phase of life and “coming of age” concerns, anxiety and depression, emotion regulation, and technology addiction/digital health. Katie’s work is person-centered and strengths-based, and draws from evidence-based modalities including Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness-based practices. She works with adolescents and adults.
