Karla V. Molinero, MD, MS

Medical Director of Child & Adolescent Residential Services

Dr. Karla Molinero brings extensive clinical expertise, specialized training, and leadership experience to her role at Brattleboro Retreat.

Dr. Molinero joined the Retreat in 2025 as Medical Director of Child and Adolescent Residential Services, overseeing the Abigail Rockwell Children’s Center and its residential care for children. She also plays an active role in planning and developing the Retreat’s future adolescent residential program.

Before joining the Retreat, Dr. Molinero served for nearly three years as Medical Director at Newport Academy and Institute in Oakley, Utah, a 60-bed residential program for adolescents.

Dr. Molinero earned her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, completed her general psychiatry residency at the University of Rochester, and completed her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at the Yale Child Study Center. She also completed a fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at the University of Colorado.

In addition to her medical and psychiatric training, Dr. Molinero earned a Master of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Medical Management. She is currently completing her Executive MBA, which she expects to finish in December 2026.
