J.J. Mull, LICSW

Program Psychotherapist

J.J. Mull, LICSW (he / him) is a Program Psychotherapist in the Anna Marsh Clinic. He holds an MSW from Smith College School for Social Work (where he currently teaches as an adjunct professor) and has received advanced clinical training in the Program for Psychotherapy at Cambridge Health Alliance, a teaching hospital for Harvard Medical School.

J.J. has worked in a wide range of settings, treating people struggling with a variety of issues, including substance use challenges, complex trauma, personality disorders, panic, and many others. His orientation to therapy is open, warm, playful, collaborative, and grounded in respect for the specificity of each person’s experience. J.J. has specialty training in (and a particular appetite) for group-oriented work and has also worked extensively with couples and families.

Finally, in all of his work, J.J. is attentive to issues of class, race, gender, sexuality, disability, identity and the many ways that the broader world enters into the therapeutic work. He has worked extensively with the LGBTQ+ community and his background as an activist and organizer influences much of his work in the present.
