Doctoral Psychology Intern

Emilie Paul, M.A., is a doctoral psychology intern at the Brattleboro Retreat and a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at St. John’s University in Queens, NY. She earned her B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience from Northeastern University and her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from St. John’s University.

Emilie has significant experience working with individuals across the lifespan in a wide range of settings, including medical, intensive outpatient programs, inpatient units, and community mental health centers. Her work has focused particularly on the treatment of trauma-related disorders. She has provided individual, group, and family therapy for clients experiencing PTSD, suicidality, anxiety, depression, OCD, grief, psychosis, and substance use disorders. Emilie has also facilitated Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) groups. Her therapeutic approach is collaborative and draws primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT, and ACT-informed techniques and practice.
