Duresmeen Berki, M.S.
Doctoral Psychology Intern
Duresmeen Berki, M.S. is a doctoral psychology intern at the Brattleboro Retreat and a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University New England. Duresmeen provides care to children and adolescents in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She currently works on an adolescent inpatient unit, supporting youth during acute psychiatric hospitalizations through individual therapy, group treatment, and safety planning, while collaborating closely with families and multidisciplinary care teams.
In addition to her inpatient work, Duresmeen also provides outpatient therapy for children and adolescents, in the Anna Marsh Clinic, using a relational, insight-oriented approach that integrates developmentally appropriate play-based interventions and DBT based skills for emotional regulation. Her clinical interests include helping young people build emotional awareness, improve behavioral control, and strengthen relationships with caregivers and peers.
Duresmeen’s approach is grounded in psychodynamic and relational principles, with a strong emphasis on child-centered care and family involvement. She is completing advanced training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and values collaboration, cultural humility, and reflective practice as central to effective treatment.
