Caitlin Stavish, M.S.
Doctoral Psychology Intern
Caitlin Stavish, M.S., is a doctoral psychology intern at the Brattleboro Retreat and a doctoral candidate in Child Clinical Psychology at the University of Washington. Her research focuses on how early life temperament and parenting experiences shape the development of coping skills and later mental health outcomes.
Caitlin earned a double major in Neuroscience and Psychology from Boston University, while completing a directed study on emotional development in the Affective Neuroscience and Development Lab at Harvard University. Following graduation, she worked for two years at the National Institute of Mental Health, conducting research on clinical irritability and behavioral difficulties in youth.
Caitlin has extensive experience providing assessment and treatment to children, adolescents, families, and emerging young adults. She has delivered individual and group therapy to clients presenting with anxiety, OCD, PTSD, emotion dysregulation, suicidality, and self-harm. She has expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as the RUBI Behavioral Parent Training program for families of youth with autism spectrum disorder. In addition, she regularly conducts neuropsychological evaluations for autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and a range of mental health concerns.
Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, integrative, and strengths-based. Caitlin strives to create an open, compassionate, and safe space for clients and families, working together in pursuit of their goals.
