Elizabeth Wohl

Prior to joining Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC, Elizabeth served as a law clerk for the Honorable William F. Downes in the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming and for Associate Justice Marilyn S. Skoglund in the Vermont Supreme Court. She is admitted to the bar in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, as well as numerous federal courts. Along with several colleagues in the Windham County Bar Association, she founded the Windham County Legal Assistance Program in 2011, which provides free and reduced fee legal services to low-income Vermonters with legal needs outside those provided by Vermont Legal Aid.
Elizabeth holds a Juris Doctorate from Vermont Law School and a B.A. from Connecticut College where she majored in English Literature and Government and concentrated in vocal performance. She has served on the boards of Brooks Memorial Library and the New England Center for Circus Arts
Elizabeth Wohl joined the Brattleboro Retreat in January, 2017 after practicing health law for nine years at the prominent New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC as an associate and then a partner. She chaired DRM’s health law practice group and provided advice to hospitals, health systems, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and designated agencies. Her experience in private practice has given Elizabeth the ability to understand health care from numerous angles. She particularly appreciates working with the various stakeholders committed to providing high-quality mental health care for Vermonters.
