This policy is meant to help maintain an educational focus in classrooms and other study areas. It is also meant to preserve the safety and confidentiality of our students in terms of internet access and potential for photography and/or videos.

We acknowledge that personal electronics are an important part of daily life for many of our students. We certainly support our students in using electronic devices during transportation on the way to and from school given the extensive commutes that many of our students experience.

  • In order to preserve confidentiality and computer network integrity, personal external storage devices (thumb drives, CDs, etc.) are not permitted.
  • Cell phones, pagers, tablets, and other electronic devices may not be on the student's person at any time during the school day.
  • The above items must be turned into staff at the start of the day, and will be stored in the staff office, to be returned at the end of the day.
  • Students’ bring their electronics to school at their own risk. BRIDGES staff members are not responsible in the event that items that are lost, broken or stolen.
  • Unauthorized use of electronics during the school day and/or keeping electronics on one’s person will result in restrictions, including but not limited to; daily collection of student’s cell phone, daily contraband searches for electronics, restricting personal electronics from entering the building at all.
  • Staff will do a contraband search of person and belongings if they have reason to believe that a student is holding on to an electronic device.
  • Staff will not review the contents of any of your electronic devices. Only the Principal or BRIDGES Clinical Manager would have the authority to review contents and only with the consent of your guardian.
