Paul’s academic career began with a degree in forestry and broadened to include the study of religion, philosophy, and then graduate level theology at the Washington Theological Union.
He completed his education with a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School. Along the way he worked in soup kitchens and professional ministry positions as well as housing development for people with developmental disabilities.
Paul has more than 20 years of experience working as a therapist in a variety of settings including community mental health and a holistic healing clinic. He values traditional and alternative approaches to healing as complements to contemporary Western medicine. He has extensively practiced movement techniques like Qi Gong and Authentic Movement. He is an expert in mindfulness practices that integrate mind and body.
He specializes in working with clients who experience stress, grief/loss, depression, anxiety disorders, OCD, ADHD, and trauma-related conditions. His clients range from pre-teens and families to adults.
Paul values diversity, inclusion, environmental ethics, respect, and reciprocity. His love of gardening, meditation, cycling, and Chinese poetry often weave into his work with clients. He is training to be a teacher of Buddhism and meditation.
