Katharine “Kayte” Bak, MS, RN—BC, was appointed as the Brattleboro Retreat’s Chief Nursing Officer in March, 2021 after serving in the role as an interim for three months. Prior to that she served as the Retreat’s Associate Chief Nursing Officer from 2019—2020 and as the Retreat’s Director of Professional Development and Nursing Standards from 2018—2019.
Kayte earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and her master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Hartford in Connecticut. She is an experienced healthcare professional with a rich background in quality improvement, professional development/advancement, clinical education, nursing management, and patient and staff safety.
Kayte is a humanistic nurse leader who is committed to quality patient care and a belief in treating the whole person—not just the person’s illness.
