Amelia Shillingford, PMHNP-BC, ANP-BC

Chief Nursing Officer

Amelia Shillingford, a board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANB-BC) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), is the Brattleboro Retreat Chief Nursing Officer. 

Amelia Shillingford joined the Retreat at the end of 2016 as a Nurse Practitioner in the Medical Consult Service.   She became an inpatient psychiatric attending in 2018 and worked in the Retreat’s outpatient buprenorphine program.  In 2020 she transitioned back to the Medial Consult Service as the Program Coordinator. In December of 2022, she became the Chief Nursing Officer.    Amelia earned her BA in Political Science at Yale University, where she also earned her Masters of Science in Nursing.   She completed  her post master’s certificate from the University of Cincinnati Ohio.  She is a board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANB-BC) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
