Our workshops cover the latest research and information on mental health and addiction care--information our attendees can put to work immediately in their clinical practices to ensure the most effective patient care. In addition to our conferences in Brattleboro, VT, we now offer an expanded series of conferences in Agawam, MA, at the Crestview Country Club. This comfortable venue is located just minutes off Interstate 91, and is a very convenient option for our friends in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and parts of New York.

Conference Fees and Early Registration Discounts

Fees for single day conferences (6 CE credit hours) are as follows:

A hearty continental breakfast, full lunch, and morning and afternoon snacks are included in the price of your registration for full-day conferences 

  • Early online registration (paid 30 days or more prior to conference date) is $145.
  • Full price online registration (paid less than 30 days prior to conference date) is $167.
  • Full price registration by mail, purchase order, fax, or phone is $177.

Fees for half-day* conferences (3.5 CE credit hours) are as follows:

  • Early online registration (paid 30 days or more prior to conference date) is $85.
  • Full price online registration (paid less than 30 days prior to conference date) is $107
  • Full price registration by mail, purchase order, fax, or phone is $117.

Group & Bulk discounts:

  • Organizations that wish to register groups of four or more employees for a single conference may now do so online.
  • Groups of 4 or more for a single conference pay $130 per registration for one-day conferences and $75 per registration for half-day conferences.
  • Groups of 8 or more for a single conference pay $125 per registration for one-day conferences and $70 per registration for half-day conferences.
  • Individuals wishing to attend three or more different events should call 802-258-4359 to receive a bulk discount.

  • Purchase orders for individuals are only available at full price for one-day conferences - $177 - ($117 for half-day conferences) and must be accompanied by purchase order number and institution’s contact information. The early discount does not apply to purchase orders.
Refund Policy

A refund minus a $30 processing charge is only available up until two weeks prior to a conference.

Workshop Attendance Requirements
  • Participants are required to attend conferences in their entirety.
  • No partial credit will be given. No exceptions.
  • All professional disciplines must sign-in at the beginning of the day and sign-out at the end of the day.
  • It is your responsibility to contact your state licensing /certificate board(s) to determine eligibility to meet your continuing education requirements.
  • Evaluations will be distributed electronically within 24 hours of the conference. Receiving a CE is contingent on completing the online evaluation.
CE Credit Hours

The Brattleboro Retreat obtains approvals for most mental health disciplines as well as for nurses and physicians. Continuing education credits (or CE credit hours) for full-day programs are as follows:

  • Social Workers: The Brattleboro Retreat, provider #1139, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org, through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. The Brattleboro Retreat maintains responsibility for the program. ASWB Approval Period: October 10, 2016 - October 10, 2019. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval. Social workers participating in a one-day course will receive 6 clinical continuing education clock hours.
  • New York State Social Workers: NBCC ACEP LogoThe Brattleboro Retreat is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0298.
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselors: The Brattleboro Retreat has been approved by NBCC (National Board for Certified Counselors) as an Approved Continuing Education Provider ACEP No. 6309. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. The Brattleboro Retreat is solely responsible for all aspects of the program. LCMHCs  (and LMHCs) participating in one-day courses will receive 6 continuing education clock hours.
  • Drug and Alcohol Counselors: The Brattleboro Retreat, provider #62508, is an approved education provider of the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC). Attendees earn 6 continuing education credits for each one-day course completed.
  • Marriage and Family Therapists: 6 contact hours for a one-day course will be requested through the Vermont Board of Allied Mental Health Practitioners.
  • Physicians: The Brattleboro Retreat is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide Medical education for physicians. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
  • Psychologists: 6 CE credit hours for a one-day course. The Brattleboro Retreat is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Brattleboro Retreat maintains responsibility for this program an its contents.
  • Nurses: 6 ANCC contact hours for a one-day course. The Brattleboro Retreat is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by The Northeast Multistate Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
  • Teacher Re-certification: 6 credit hours approval based on submission to state licensure board as part of Professional Development Plan.
Grievance Policy

If you have encountered any problems regarding your experience at a Brattleboro Retreat sponsored educational activity, please contact the Office of Continuing Education's Manager at 802-258-6737 as soon as possible.

If your problem is not satisfactorily resolved in a timely manner, you may request and submit a Grievance Procedure Form and return it to the Office of Continuing Education as soon as possible. All such grievances will be brought to  the Manager's supervisor and Continuing Education Steering Committee for resolution.  If the grievance is not satisfactorily resolved at this level, it will go to the Vice President, Development and Communications.  You will be informed of the status of complaint at all levels.

  • Special Accommodations: Participants  in need of special accommodations to attend a continuing education event are encouraged to contact the Office of Continuing Education as far in advance as possible at 802-258-4359.
  • Pets: Only registered service animals are permitted to accompany conference participants.
