Proven Treatment Approaches for Uniformed Service Workers

 

  • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) helps improve sleep quality, reduce tension, anxiety, anger, and fatigue while helping people regulate their emotions.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) reduces the chances of self-harm by tackling depression, substance abuse and hostility.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps individuals deal with post-traumatic stress, chronic pain, hopelessness, substance abuse and unhealthy patterns ranging from smoking and other tobacco use to eating disorders.
  • Substance Abuse Services include individualized assessment and treatment, AA/NA meetings, Starting Now outpatient care (for local participants), the Retreat's inpatient co-occurring disorders program, detox, and The Birches partial hospitalization program, as needed.
