Outpatient APRN Joins Retreat Staff

The Brattleboro Retreat is pleased to announce that Susanna L. Woods, APRN, has joined the staff of the Anna Marsh Behavioral Care Clinic (AMBCC). Woods specializes in family psychiatry serving the needs of children, adolescents and adults. She is a graduate of Rivier College in Nashua, NH, where she earned a master's degree in nursing and completed her course work in 2003 to become an advance practice registered nurse.

As a member of the AMBCC staff, Woods will provide outpatient therapy, write prescription orders and perform psychiatric evaluations requested by referring therapists from both the Anna March Clinic and Starting Now, the Retreat's intensive outpatient substance abuse recovery program.

In addition to her duties at the Retreat, Woods maintains a private practice in Keene, NH, which she launched in 2008. Her experience includes five years of service in the outpatient mental health department of Monadnock Community Hospital (MCH) in Peterborough, NH. Earlier in her career she worked at MCH in the med/surge unit. Her background also includes work in nursing homes and with disabled children.

"Coming to the Retreat is exciting for a couple reasons," said Woods. "The Retreat is committed to providing innovative new services that meet the changing needs of the community. I also like the exclusive focus on mental health and addiction care. It makes for a true community feel, where you sense that everyone's on the same page."
