Jim is a registered nurse who first joined USP in January 2012. With a background in ER nursing he also has a long term comitment to the recovery community. He graduated from Greenfield Community College's nursing program in 1996. Prior to his nursing career Jim served in the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman, 1st and 3rd Bn. 8th marines, one tour in Beirut 1982 to 1983.
In his current role as a mental health worker, Jim facilitates the morning stretch, peer council, and several recovery groups at USP. He is currently pursuing certification as an addiction councilor. Jim is committed to the treatment of individuals experiencing service-related trauma and addiction issues.
"Working in the Uniformed Service Program is not something that I do, it's who I am. I want those of you who help others on a daily basis to know that our program is here for you when you need us. And always remember that reaching out for help is a sign of strength."
