Adult Inpatient Care

The Brattleboro Retreat's adult inpatient programs offer admissions 24/7. We specialize in short-term, around the clock acute care treatment for adults with a broad range of severe emotional, behavioral and addictive disorders.

We offer a multidisciplinary team approach consisting of board-certified psychiatrists, social workers, drug and alcohol counselors, psychiatric nurses and creative arts therapists that combine sophisticated clinical skills and diverse programming, including therapeutic services, to create a unique and individualized experience for each client.

Highly skilled in assessment and rapid intervention, the treatment team develops a treatment plan that addresses the needs of the individual during hospitalization and beyond to provide ongoing treatment and support.

Since the Brattleboro Retreat contracts with more than 100 national and regional insurance companies, we are able to accept most commercial and managed care payers, as well as Vermont Medicaid. Our staff members collaborate with patients and families to manage insurance and reauthorization requirements, and to arrange reasonable self-payment plans, if necessary.
