Tonia Wheeler is a member of both the Executive and Quality & Performance Improvement (QPI) Committees.
She grew up in San Francisco and taught school in Marin County and London, England before moving to Boston in 1973 to work for a textbook publishing company. She and her husband Whit have lived in Dummerston since 1978. They have three grown children and one grandchild.
Tonia is the former Head of School for Hilltop Montessori School. During her 20 year tenure, she oversaw the growth of the school to include pre-school through 8th grade. Tonia is currently Chair of the Putney School Board of Trustees and has lived in southern Vermont for the past 30-plus years.
