Geoffrey P. Kane, MD, MPH, is Chief of Addiction Services at the Brattleboro Retreat. Dr. Kane graduated from Boston College and Yale University School of Medicine and trained at Montefiore Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Addiction Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
Dr. Kane has held faculty appointments at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Tufts University School of Medicine, Antioch New England Graduate School, and New Hampshire Technical Institute. His medical career includes work in the South Bronx, industrial New Jersey, and New York City. In 1981, he published Inner-City Alcoholism (Human Sciences Press).
Since 1988, Dr. Kane has served as medical director of addiction services in both psychiatric (Brookside Hospital, Nashua, NH; Acadia Hospital, Bangor, ME; Brattleboro Retreat, Brattleboro, VT) and in general (Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH; Crow/Northern Cheyenne Hospital, Indian Health Service, Crow Agency, MT) hospitals.
