Frederick "Fritz" Engstrom, MD

Dr. Fritz Engstrom grew up in Wisconsin, graduated magna cum laude with a BA from Harvard University, received his MD from the University of Rochester, and completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Colorado.

He is board certified in general psychiatry, and his expertise includes evaluating and treating people who require medication for problems including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

In addition to his role as Chief Medical Officer at the Brattleboro Retreat, Dr. Engstrom teaches extensively at symposia across the country. He is also the author of the book Movie Clips for Creative Mental Health Education.

Dr. Engstrom is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
